Beer Week First for Sheffield
City restaurants, pubs, bars and breweries have been invited to participate in Sheffield Beer Week, a public beer tasting free-for-all.
Today is the first day of the first Sheffield Beer Week, intended to invite visitors to our wonderfully “beery” city, lure locals out of their habitual haunts and to showcase local drinking (and eating) venues.
Put together by Clare Tollick, in public relations and communications, and Julia Gray of Hop Hideout beer shop; a city-wide array of fantastic events have been made available to all, from barrel-aged beer tasting, to brew tap takeovers and Meet the Brewer events. There are prizes to be won, book readings and talks, brewery tours and beer and cheese pairings to enjoy. Most events are free and numbers are based on a first come, first serve basis.
Sheffield Beer Week coincides with the BeerX 2015 Festival of Beer SIBA conference (Society of Independent Breweries) at iceSheffield this weekend on 20th and 21st March.
The “beery” events across Sheffield city this week culminate in the Sheffield Beer Week Closing Party which will be held at Stancill Brewery on Sunday 22 March.
Visit the website for more information about events, support Sheffield’s independent restaurants, pubs, bars and breweries and make this Sheffield Beer Week the first of many.
